Weekly Camps from June to August

2017 Farm Camp

Monday through Friday from 9 am to 3 pm
maximum of 6 children (each session)  ages 6-12
Cost is $300 a week

Session 1 ………….  June 12 to June 16
Session 2 …………. June 19 to June 23
Session 3 …………. June 26 to June 30 SOLD OUT

Activities May Include…
• Screen Printing
• Handmade books
• Ceramics
• Water Play
• Homesteading projects and crafts
• Care and feeding of farm animals
• Groundwork with horses
• Pack Goats & hiking with goats
• Organic Beekeeping – observing a colony, planting and tending a bee friendly garden and learning all about the greatness of honey bees!
• Organic Farming on an 8 acre organic apple orchard
• Wild Crafting, plant and animal identification, primitive shelters…
• Daily nature hikes, tree climbing, scavenger hunts, and so much more….Our camps are full of experiment, creative thinking, cooperation, and fun! Safety around farm animals is taught and encouraged daily. How to be soft, focused, and alert around our wonderful farmyard critters is just a small part of our daily adventures at Root Summer Camp! Horse Camp


Children ages 6 and up are invited to join Horse Camp at Root Farm.
Camp hours are 9:00am – 1:00pm Monday through Friday.

I keep my camps small in size so I can be sure we stay safe and have fun.. while attending to each child’s needs with the horses. We will have 4 campers, per week, during horse camp, along with extra helpers so each rider feels secure and confident!

4 children (each session)  ages 6 and up
cost is $395 a week

Session 1 ………….  July 17 to July 21 (almost sold out please contact us for more info)

Session 2 ……….. July 24 to July 28 SOLD OUT



Session 1 is for any rider that is eager to learn all about horses!! We’ll focus on safety on the ground and while riding. We will play games, groom, feed and more…
No previous horse experience necessary… we will take any level of rider in week 1, and work within each riders comfort zone.

Session 1 Friday is Show Day, parents and friends are invited to attend our horse show, where campers can show off everything they have learned during camp!


Session 2  Horse Camp (please obtain approval from Joy prior to registering for this camp, this is for a more seasoned rider, possibly a riding student who has been riding with Joy for a year or more)

We will ride, ride and ride some more!! Work on groundwork skills, obstacles, and preparing you for more advanced riding…

Session 2  Friday is Trail Day! We will meet at either Ragle Ranch Park in Sebastopol or Riverfront Regional Park in Healdsburg.
